Step into Khushi’s and feel instantly at home: warm copper tones,dark wood, and soft pendant lighting set a relaxed, golden glow, while vibrant Indian textiles and vintage film posters add a playful nod to our heritage. Lush greenery softens the edges, brass accents catch the eye, and intimate booth seating keeps conversations cosy. It’s a modern, characterful space—designed for lingering over shared plates, good stories, and that second helping you didn’t plan on (but won’t regret).
From tandoor-kissed kebabs and street-food favourites to slow-cooked curries layered with spice, Khushi’s menu is all about bold flavour and comforting, shareable plates. You’ll find beloved classics like Chicken Tikka Masala alongside regional gems—Goan fish curry, dal makhani, brinjal masala—crafted with quality ingredients and time-honoured techniques. We offer plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, plus set menus for groups, so everyone can dive in and feast together. Come hungry; leave happy.


Our bar brings the buzz—classic pours, craft beers, and spice-led cocktails that play perfectly with the kitchen. Don’t miss our signature Chai Espresso Martini: chai-spiced vodka shaken hard with fresh espresso and coffee liqueur for a silky, aromatic kick. Prefer something lighter? Ask for a refreshing mango spritz or a zero-proof cooler. Khushi’s – Indian Food Since 1947
Khushi’s is a family-run Indian restaurant with deep roots in Edinburgh’s dining scene. First opened in 1947 by Mr. Khushi, it holds the title of the UK’s second-oldest still-operating Indian restaurant. Over its 78 years, Khushi’s has moved between several locations across the city, each one welcoming customers with its signature casual friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant’s menu blends much-loved classics like rich curries with distinctive family recipes that have been refined over decades. From its earliest days, Khushi’s has been a true family affair: after Mr. Khushi founded the business, his wife — affectionately known as Mrs. Khushi — ran it for around 30 years. Following her passing, their sons took over and continue to run the restaurant today.
Khushi’s loyal following spans generations with many customers dining with us for decades, passing down their fondness for Khushi’s food, hospitality, and heritage.
For nearly eight decades, Khushi’s has been more than a restaurant — it’s been a warm, welcoming part of Edinburgh’s story.
